Maureen, graduated from Central Carolina Community College in 2014 and became a Veterinary Technician that same year. Her favorite this about being a Registered Veterinary Technician is the ability to use her education to educate clients. Maureen enjoys taking care of hospitalized patients, especially ones recovering from surgery. She appreciates the special bond they create while in the hospital. After recovery, she enjoys seeing them reunite and depart with their owners.Her fur family consists of Biscuit, a lab mix, Sophie a maltipoo, Rascal a beagle (alumni from the CCCC program), and Doodles a grey tabby cat.
Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from St. Petersburg College in Veterinary Technology. She is an active member of World Vets, a non-profit global organization that lends veterinary aid to animals, people and communities. She recently completed a field project in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, she is an active volunteer at Red Dog Farm. Maureen holds a position on the North Carolina Association of Veterinary Technicians' executive board. While not at work or volunteering, Maureen enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage daughter Emma outside kayaking, running and hiking.
